CakeCue Privacy Policy

Article 1 (Scope)

1. This Policy applies to the App, this website, and inquiries concerning the App.
2. Information handled by third-party services, including the App Store, Apple’s purchasing services, Google Forms, and other external websites, is subject to the privacy policy of the applicable provider.

Article 2 (Information Used on the Device)

The App uses the following information on the User’s device to provide its functions. This information is not transmitted to or stored on the Operator’s server.

1. Images selected by the User
   Used to display a reference image over the live camera view.
2. Live view from the rear camera
   Displayed in real time as the background for the reference image and guide frame. The App does not photograph, record, save, or transmit the camera view to the Operator.
3. Image and guide-frame editing state
   Position, size, rotation, opacity, visibility, and other settings are retained only while the camera screen is in use and are discarded when that screen is closed.
4. Free-trial state
   The free-trial start time and used status are stored in the device’s Keychain. This information is not transmitted to the Operator and, due to the operation of iOS, may remain on the device after the App is deleted and reinstalled.
5. Purchase-entitlement information
   Through Apple’s StoreKit, the App checks on the device whether a valid one-time purchase entitlement exists. The Operator does not transmit purchase history or payment information to its own server.

Article 3 (Information Not Collected from the App)

The App does not collect or transmit the following information to the Operator:

• Selected images or the contents of the photo library
• Camera images, photos, or videos
• Account information such as name, address, telephone number, or email address
• Precise or approximate location information
• Contacts, microphone audio, or other files on the device
• Advertising identifiers, advertising-view information, or tracking information
• In-app operation history, analytics information, or crash information independently collected by the Operator

The App does not include advertising SDKs, behavioral-analytics SDKs, the Firebase SDK, account functionality, or an independent backend.

Article 4 (Device Permissions)

1. Camera
   The App requests access to the rear camera so the User can view the cake and on-screen guide at the same time.
2. Photos
   The App uses the iOS photo picker so the User can select a reference image. The App does not independently access photos that the User has not selected.

Permissions can be changed at any time in iPhone Settings. If a required permission is revoked, the corresponding function will no longer be available.

Article 5 (Information Collected through Inquiries)

1. When a User submits the contact form, the Operator receives the information entered or submitted by the User, including the email address, inquiry details, and any other form fields.
2. The Operator uses this information to respond to the inquiry, investigate problems, address misuse, respond to the exercise of rights, and take any action required by law.
3. Once the inquiry has been resolved, information for which no legal retention obligation, dispute-related need, or other legitimate retention purpose remains will be deleted within a reasonable period.
4. Inquiry information is processed on the basis of steps necessary to respond to the inquiry, the Operator’s legitimate interests, legal obligations, or consent where required by applicable law.

Article 6 (External Services)

1. Apple Inc. and its affiliates
   The App uses the App Store and StoreKit for distribution, in-app purchases, restoration of purchases, and verification of purchase entitlements. Payment information and other information are handled in accordance with Apple’s terms and Privacy Policy.
2. Google LLC
   This website uses Firebase Hosting, and inquiries are accepted through Google Forms. Google may process information submitted through the form, IP addresses, browser information, access times, and other information for service delivery, security, prevention of misuse, and related purposes. For details, see the Google Privacy Policy.

The Operator does not install analytics, advertising, tracking cookies, or third-party marketing scripts on this website.

Article 7 (Third-Party Disclosure, Sale, and Sharing)

1. The Operator does not sell User information or share it with third parties for behavioral advertising.
2. The Operator does not disclose inquiry information to third parties except in the following circumstances:
   • With the User’s consent
   • When required by law
   • When necessary to protect a person’s life, body, or property and obtaining consent is difficult
   • When processing is entrusted to a service provider described in Article 6 to the extent necessary to provide the relevant service

Article 8 (Cross-Border Processing)

In connection with services provided by Apple or Google, information may be processed in a country or region other than the User’s country of residence. In such cases, the information is handled under the relevant provider’s contractual safeguards and applicable law.

Article 9 (Security)

The Operator takes reasonable security measures appropriate for an individual operator, including account protection and access restrictions, to help prevent unauthorized access to, disclosure, loss, or damage of inquiry information. However, complete security in information communications cannot be guaranteed.

Article 10 (User Rights and Deletion Requests)

1. Under applicable law, Users may have the right to request notice of the purpose of use, access, correction, supplementation, deletion, suspension of use, restriction of processing, objection, or data portability regarding their information held by the Operator.
2. Where information is processed on the basis of consent, the User may withdraw that consent prospectively.
3. Because the Operator does not collect account information, images, or similar information from the App, information the Operator can delete is generally limited to information received through inquiries.
4. Because the Operator does not receive the free-trial information stored in the device’s Keychain, the Operator cannot remotely view or delete that information.
5. To make a request, use the contact method specified in Article 14. The Operator may request the minimum information necessary to verify the requester’s identity.
6. Users may have the right to lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority in their country or region of residence.

Article 11 (Children’s Privacy)

1. The App is intended for a general audience and is not designed primarily for children.
2. Minors should use the App with the consent or supervision of a parent or legal guardian where appropriate.
3. If the Operator becomes aware that it has collected a child’s personal information without parental consent where such consent is required by applicable law, the Operator will verify the circumstances and take necessary measures, including deletion.

Article 12 (Changes to This Policy)

1. The Operator may amend this Policy in response to changes in law, the App’s functions, or the external services used.
2. For material changes, the Operator will provide notice of the changes and their effective date through the App or this website by a reasonable method.
3. The amended Policy applies from the effective date stated in the notice.

Article 13 (Applicable Laws)

The Operator handles information in accordance with Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable laws. Nothing in this Policy restricts mandatory privacy rights that apply in the User’s country or region of residence.
